Economics

  • The biggest Economics news this week was the persistently high inflation. The CPI was up 7.5% year-over-year in January, the highest since 1982.   • Corporate Economists discuss what they think the inflation data means. (Yahoo Finance), and there is much speculation as to what the Fed will or won’t do re: interest rates at their March FOMC meeting. (Yahoo Finance2)
  • Here is a fun interactive from the Economist: The Big Mac Index gives the cost of a Big Mac across the globe, and you can compare any two countries versus exchange rates to make inferences about relative cost of living.

 

Investing
