My Classroom Podcast: How Business Teachers Approach Personal Finance

My Classroom is a short NGPF podcast series devoted to supporting the efforts of teachers. Each week we speak with teachers who share timely tips, resources, and teaching strategies that can be implemented immediately in your classroom.

This week, we welcome Jacqueline Collins and Alex Lamon. They will share the approach that business educators take when teaching personal finance.

  • Jacqueline Collins is in her 15th year at Mansfield Public Schools where she was the 2021 National Business Teacher of the Year. She is an NGPF Fellow and National Board Certified Teacher who specializes in Business, Marketing, and Financial Services. She has served in leadership roles for a number of state and national organizations.
  • Alex Lamon is in his 8th year of teaching and currently focuses on AP Economics, Investing, and Personal Finance at a nationally ranked high school outside of New York City. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Education and a Master's degree in Education. He frequently speaks at national conferences.

Both highly recommend joining the FinLit Fanatics group (6,000+ teachers), where teachers share resources and best practices.
