My Classroom Podcast: Ingrid Lu
NGPF’s My Classroom is a 10-15 minute weekly podcast series that follows the lives of four amazing financial literacy leaders. Each episode will share how they advocate for financial literacy and the teaching strategies they have used through COVID. Like the last series, each one is from a different area of the country and a different type of school, but this time you'll hear from a student-teacher, a middle school teacher, a former financial literacy teacher turned administrator, and a state teacher of the year.
This brief podcast is designed to inspire you, share ideas, and let you know that you are not alone during this unprecedented school year. Each week a new podcast will be posted for you to listen to on your drive to or from work, on a quick walk, or just when you need a little inspiration and encouragement.
In Episode #4, we hear from Ingrid Lu. Ingrid is a math teacher at Joaquin Miller Middle School who has advocated for personal finance in her school and district. Ingrid shares why students should learn about personal finance in middle school and how our math curriculum and support has impacted her teaching.
