NGPF Podcast: A Conversation with Meghan Rabuse, The Family Finance Mom

I had a great conversation with Meghan Rabuse, who has taken her passion for finance and translated it into a popular blog and podcast, The Family Finance Mom. Her focus: "sharing my simple money tips with you to help your family make the most of its means, and reach your financial goals." Meghan's shares how her investing expertise came from stints at a leading Wall Street investment bank and hedge fund. She has some great analogies to make complex financial topics easier to understand. While raising three children, she has devoted her energy to serving others through her work. A true FinHero that you will find inspiring!

Quotes:

  • “Even though my career was in stock picking, the average person shouldn’t be trying to stock-pick or shouldn’t be trying to crypto-pick. That’s kind of my approach -- keep it simple to start, and just start.”

About the Author

Tim Ranzetta

Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
